Mana-deny them with Wasteland and Sphere of Resistance, then cheat Terravore into play with Oath of Druids — a 10/10 trampler from a wasted board.
A prison-combo hybrid that combines land destruction with the Oath of Druids cheat. Oath Ponza strips the opponent’s mana base, taxes their spells, and then drops a massive Terravore through Oath — all the destroyed lands make it lethal.
Wasteland destroys a nonbasic land for free. Rishadan Port taps a land during their upkeep, denying them mana that turn. Thermokarst and Winter’s Grasp destroy any land for three mana. Together, this package can keep the opponent off two or three mana for the entire game.
Sphere of Resistance taxes every spell by 1 — brutal when the opponent is already short on mana. You break parity with Mox Diamond, which lets you play threats through your own tax.
Oath of Druids triggers when the opponent has more creatures than you. Since you play almost no creatures, any creature they deploy triggers Oath, milling your library until it finds Terravore. Terravore’s power and toughness equal the number of lands in all graveyards — after you’ve Wasted and Thermokarsted their mana base, that’s often 8-12 power with trample.
Treetop Village and Mishra’s Factory attack as creature-lands, providing a clock without triggering Oath for the opponent. They also survive your own Sphere of Resistance since they don’t need to be cast.
Sylvan Library draws three cards per turn, letting you keep the best two and put one back. The 4 life per extra card is a real cost, but the card selection is worth it when you’re assembling the lock.
Naturalize handles opposing artifacts and enchantments — especially important for removing an opponent’s Sphere or enchantment-based answers.
Oath Ponza is the deck for players who don’t want the opponent to play Magic. It’s a prison deck with a combo finish — lock them out, then kill them with the wreckage.
